Bronwyn Rennex is a writer, artist and arts professional, whose work revolves around pictures and words.
She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Newcastle and a 2024 Visiting Scholar and Summer Scholar at State Library of NSW. She has a Master of Arts (Research) in Creative Writing at the University of Sydney and was awarded the 2020 Dr Colin Roderick Prize in Australian Literature for the best thesis on a topic in Australian Literature.
Her first book, Life with Birds: a suburban lyric was released by Upswell Publishing in June 2022. Her poems have been published in Cordite Poetry Review and her photographs have been exhibited widely and are held in private and public collections.
She has had a long career working in the arts. Until 2017, she was Co-Director of Stills Gallery in Sydney, where she worked with some of Australia’s most celebrated artists. More recently she has worked as a tutor in creative writing at University of Sydney and an arts worker/ consultant in Arnhem Land. Her diverse career in the arts has also included stints as a picture and archive researcher, photographer, image library manager, editorial assistant, writer and photography teacher.
